Summer Sailing Opportunities
On Monday afternoons starting early this year, children from the Quality of Life Learning Center have been coming to BCMS and have been training on the new 3D Maritime Training Simulator. In spring the activities moved outside and they have been learning to sail on the BCMS vessels.Fanta, a young sailor from the Quality of Life Learning Center, driving the 34' racing catamaran Taco the Town.
While sailing, the BCMS Maritime Instructors go over an array of subjects including meteorology, physics, the history, lore, impact and development of sailing and sailboats.
The adventure and thrill of sailing captivates and engages kids, helping them to become active participants in their own education.
While underway emphasis is placed on teamwork, effective communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and having fun!

Sailing into a successful future.
