BCMS to Take Part in Tall Ships Erie
BCMS is excited to be a part of Tall Ships Erie 2010, the first tall ships festival in Erie in more than a decade! The event, which will include the U.S. Brig Niagara as well as six other tall ships, is set to take place Thursday, September 9th through Sunday, September 12th 2010, in partnership with the Erie County Historical Society's annual Heritage Festival. BCMS will be hosting a number of fun activities!

BCMS has been selected to host a full time AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer for 2010-2011.

Erie Adaptive Sailing Experience, EASE, Underway for 2010
Seventeen volunteers that run the EASE program at BCMS met Sunday aboard a houseboat in Horseshoe Pond to begin preparations for Erie's eleventh season of adaptive sailing.

ERIE BAYFRONT STUDENTS LAUNCH THEIR CANOES!
Erie School District high school students enrolled in the Alternative Education Program at the Bayfront Center for Maritime Studies will launch four canoes that they built at the Boys and Girls Club of Erie pool on Friday, April 23, at 12:30pm.

Hands-on Science Technology Engineering and Math at Work in the Student Boat Building Project at BCMS
Work continues in the Boatshop on the San Francisco Pelican. This applied academics project combines elements of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, as Erie high school students use critical thinking skills while building the vessel.

Twenty two students attending the Bayfront Alternative Education Program at BCMS got a tour of the 140-foot United States Coast Guard Icebreaking tug Thursday morning.
