BMC Presents on Award Winning Program at the National Migrant Education Conference in Nashville
The Pennsylvania Migrant Education Program won the 2011 Excellence in Summer Learning Award from the National Summer Learning Association.
On Monday November 14th, Carol Bagley, Project Manager for the Migrant Education Program in Area 7 at the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit, John Dahlstrand, Coordinator of State Programs for the School District City of Erie, and Rich Eisenberg, BMC Executive Director, gave a presentation, "Successful Partnerships" at the National Migrant Education Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, discussing the partnerships and collaborations that create the Bayfront Migrant IU5/ESD Summer program.

On Tuesday November 15th, Carol Bagley and Rich Eisenberg gave another presentation "Full STEAM Ahead" on the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math components woven into the curriculum of the Bayfront Migrant IU5/ESD Summer Program that helped to win the 2011 Excellence in Summer Learning Award. We were honored to have the Director of Migrant Education from the United States Department of Education, Lisa Ramirez, Ed.D. attend our presentation. She is excited about our program and is planing a trip to Erie to see it in action!
