BIG WEEK at BCMS
BIG WEEK: School is out this Thursday!
- The Summer Migrant/English Language Learners Program begins next week and instructors are starting to return to launch and rig the boats.
- A marketing/branding study is underway with PAPA Advertising and the Non Profit Partnership.
- The annual Maritime Education Standards Council meeting is happening soon and BCMS will be participating.
- The new Access Dinghy is here (the third!) for the Erie Adaptive Sailing Program, and will be on display at the Erie Safe Boating Day at Wolverine Marina on June 12th. A grant from CVS Pharmacy and donations from Erie Insurance and PNC Bank paid for the new boat!
- Thanks to a grant from the Erie Community Foundation, BCMS is getting its first vehicle, a new van!
It's a wonderful day at sea, sir!"

Built by over 1000 Erie school students, the Erie Boat (left), a reproduction of the vessel that enabled Erie to be the freshwater fishing capital of the world 1890-1910, sails in front of the BCMS waterfront campus. The Bayfront Center's USCG inspected Friendship sloop, Momentum (right), is ready for sail charters!
