BCMS is Hosting Erie's First CARDBOARD BOAT REGATTA
On Saturday September 11th, Erie will have its first ever Cardboard Boat Regatta in the East Canal Basin behind the BCMS campus. A parade of entries will begin at 10am; racing will start at 1pm. This is a perfect opportunity for schools, scout groups, community organizations, family teams, and businesses to design and build a boat to race. Or come join the fun on the waterfront to cheer for your favorite team. The cardboard boat race regatta will only add to the waterfront activities of the Erie Heritage Festival and Tall Ships Erie, which are set for the same weekend.
Here are some photographs of imaginative entries in cardboard boat regattas from around the United States. Click photos for details.

Proceeds from the cardboard boat regatta will help BCMS continue to offer hands-on maritime programming for the community. More information including vessel categories, race rules, and sponsorship opportunities will follow on the BCMS website.
