AmeriCorps*VISTA Position Open
The Children & Youth AmeriCorps*VISTA Project of NW PA is looking for a dedicated individual to help mobilize the community to combat issues of children and youth living in poverty. This is a collaborative effort by Allegheny College, Edinboro University, Gannon University and Mercyhurst College. The VISTA will work to build infrastructure by developing new programs, assessing existing programs and writing grants.
You must have a college degree and be willing to serve for a year. This position offers a modest living allowance, health care benefits, an educational award or stipend at the end of service, and a student loan forbearance or deferment.

UPDATE: BCMS has selected Sam Rigotti as its AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer for next year. Sam is a 2010 graduate of Allegheny College (cum laude) with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. At Allegheny, he served has a Resident Advisor and has held leadership roles in his fraternity, student government, and on-campus political initiatives. BCMS is excited to bring Sam aboard when his year of service begins in August.
