Antique Iceboat Sailing Again
Thanks to a generous donation from BCMS supporter and lifelong sailor Mr. Eric Theis, students at the Bayfront School were able to have a hands-on history lesson as they helped to get the antique Meade Glider iceboat ready to sail again. Students sharpened the skates, inspected and oiled the moving parts, moused the turnbuckles and polished the bronze wheel and steering arm. While working to prepare the 1920's era iceboat for action, they learned about the physics of sailing, renewable energy sources, and the history of the sport.

A Meade Glider from the 1920's is back on the ice again.
