BCMS Welcomes New AmeriCorps*VISTA Volunteer
The Bayfront Center for Maritime Studies welcomes Sam Rigotti as its new AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer. Sam is a 2010 graduate of Allegheny College, with a degree in Environmental Studies, and will be serving at BCMS through July 2011.

Free Cardboard Boat Construction Class
A free workshop will be held at BCMS on Tuesday, August 17th from 7:00-8:30pm on building a cardboard boat for the upcoming Cardboard Boat Regatta. The class will cover materials, construction methods, tips, and techniques.

Congresswoman Dahlkemper visited the Erie Adaptive Sailing Experience, EASE , program on Friday, meeting with volunteers and participants, expressing her support for Pennsylvania's only adaptive sailing program.

On Saturday July 31st, a dozen Shriners Hospitals for Children kids sailed on Presque Isle Bay in the EASE Program, one of the many hands-on maritime programs BCMS brings to the Erie Community.
