Total Eclipse

Total Eclipse is our catboat that was built by local boatbuilder, woodcarver, and tool maker David Bennett. We use this wonderful catboat for sail training, and as a spectator boat to accommodate family members and participants for adaptive sailing.

A catboat is characterized by a single mast near the front of the boat. The traditional catboat has a wide beam approximately half the length of the boat, a centerboard, and a single gaff-rigged sail. Historically, catboats were used for fishing and transport while others were used as party boats.
